For 50 years, Sustainable Food Center (SFC) has been on a mission to improve access to fresh, nutritious food for all Texans. Their mission weaves together efforts to improve the health, land, and livelihoods of Texas communities by addressing food security holistically to build a sustainable food future for all.

SFC's Double Up Food Bucks Texas program increases the purchasing power of families with SNAP at farmers' markets and grocery stores across the state, making nutritious food more affordable while boosting sales for local farmers. SFC operates two farmers' markets in Downtown Austin and Sunset Valley, providing reliable access points for food. And through The Happy Kitchen/La Cocina Alegre®, SFC equips families with the skills to cook healthy meals on a budget using local produce.
