Friends of Burr is a nonprofit organization formed to support Jonathan Burr Elementary School.  The Charity is comprised of current and prospective parents, teachers and administrators and local community and business members.  The Charity is primarily a fundraising organization with a mission of working with the staff and administration to build a strong and highly regarded neighborhood school.  Like many public schools, Burr's operating budget is underfunded.  This necessitates additional funding to support continued growth and expansion, and the current focus is on the technological needs, arts, and physical school improvements.  Friends of Burr recognizes the unique aspects of the Burr students and delights in the diversity and individuality of the students and parents.
