Support the WHAS Crusade for Children by joining the Team Crusade Challenge and raising a minimum of $250 for the WHAS Crusade for Children to benefit children with identified health care, educational, and emotional wellness needs in Kentuckiana. All donations to the Crusade are 100% for the kids!  Ask a company to sponsor you, or ask family and friends to support. No donation is too small for the WHAS Crusade for Children. Your support can help children with the Louisville Lightning and many others 

Parents all fear that moment when they could be told their child has a major medical issue. That's where the WHAS Crusade for Children and our community partners step in. The WHAS Crusade for Children recently provided funding to the Louisville Lightning sports program. The program was created by JCPS in 2023 to give children with differing abilities the opportunity to compete with other children statewide and nationally. Students with amputations, spinal cord injuries, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and significant visual impairments can now participate in track and field events. The Crusade for Children has been there from the beginning to help these amazing and talented athletes have the specialized equipment needed. Louisville Lightning adaptive athletes can now compete in wheelchair basketball, archery, track and field, and boccia ball. There are future plans to include swimming, wheelchair tennis, seated volleyball, and cheer/dance. Together, we can help these children and many others throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

WHAS Crusade for Children

The WHAS Crusade for Children raises money for agencies, schools and hospitals that provide direct services to children with special needs in Kentucky and southern Indiana. The Crusade grants 100% of all donations to more than 200 organizations throughout Kentuckiana. Together as a running community, we have the power to make life better for children with special needs.  

Together we provide resources to impact all children with special needs.

  • 100% of each donation to the WHAS Crusade for Children helps children with special needs.
  • Through the Crusade we've changed the lives of millions of children in Kentucky and Indiana since 1954.
  • The Crusade receives an average of 200 grant requests annually totaling up to three times the amount of annual funds raised
